Once the sponsor and the applicant are thorough with the eligibility requirements of the Dependent Child Visa, they must start gathering the required documents. CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) provides the checklist along with the application form. This checklist includes the requirements for the visa application such as:
- Application of sponsorship
- An undertaking signed by the sponsor to support their child in Canada
- Sponsorship evaluation forms
- A financial evaluation form, if required
- Proof of the sponsor’s status in Canada
- Employment details of the sponsor
- Passport and identity proofs of the applicant such as birth certificate, voter’s ID or school records
- Police clearance certificate, if required
- Photographs and/or biometrics
- Medical Clearance
- Proof of relationship with the sponsor
