    IELTS Exam Registration Process

    The very famous International English Language Testing System, also known as IELTS, is designed to test the English of the candidates who want to visit, travel, study, or move to English-speaking countries. It is conducted by the IDP, Cambridge and the British Council. 

    There are different versions of the test, including Academics, and General Training.

    IELTS Registration Process

    Let’s take a glance at the IELTS registration procedure. 

    1. Log on to the official IELTS website.
    2. Click on ‘Register for IELTS’.
    3. Select the preferred test (such as computer-based test, or paper-based test)
    4. Select your test type (such as Academic or General Training depending on which test serves your purpose best)
    5. Choose your desired exam centre from the list of available centres.
    6. Choose your preferred date and time slot from the available ones.
    7. Fill in all the details in the online IELTS application form, and upload the required documents.
    8. You will need a clear, coloured scan of your passport while registering for the IELTS test.
    9. Pay the IELTS fee online.
    10. Once you submit the IELTS application form successful, you will receive an acknowledgement on your registered email ID or phone number.
    11. If you opt for the paper-based IELTS test, you will have to book an online date and slot for the Speaking test separately. If you do not choose the slot within the stated time, you will be allotted a time slot automatically.
    12. If you do not want to register online, you can go to the nearest IDP IELTS branch or Referral Partner and register in person. You will need to carry a photocopy of the front and back page of your passport, and a signed and dated declaration document for registration.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How can I choose dates for the ILETS test?
    The IELTS test has around 48 dates fixed for a year - 4 test dates each month. Tests are usually taken on Thursdays and Saturdays. 

    If I take the ILETS test twice, which score would be considered valid?

    You can use whichever score is higher but only if it is valid. IELTS scores remain valid for two years.
